been lyin' in the weeds,
when I shoulda been out there,
raisin' hell and climbin' trees;
I was sure that she would
meet all of my needs,
but it turned out that what
she takes was more than
what she leaves;
and so I just closed my eyes,
finally, and let her go:
she's spinning out there, somewhere,
exactly where, I don't know;
but if you should see her,
tell her that her
former shadow,
the one that she used to know,
he says
something like hello.
