discards

in the rusty old
galvanized bucket,
not just a contradiction in terms:
many straight nails,
ready to render,
but a few badly bent ones
as well;

the bent ones
will likely be
thrown out,
which I lament:

they maybe
could be
straightened,
at least
enough.
