More

we fill our days and nights
with wanting more;
all of us: believers and not,
we are all convinced
that there should be,
that there must be,
that there always will be
more;
since there is always more
that can be done:
hugs, kisses, promises,
and those adoration glances,
that tell us alternately
to come, or if we have already arrived,
to stay.

all, it turns out, that any of us
really want,
really, really want,
is the chance,
the simple chance,
for more.
