Bruckner knew

I wasn't sure how many violins it takes
to capture you in a symphony;
luckily, Bruckner knew,
all those years ago,
and he even went to the trouble
of writing it all down,
and others, many years later,
performed and recorded
Number 4,
so that I could have it for reference
when trying to find
the right words
to accompany all those
soaring violins,
and all the tender waves
that wash out of the speakers,
building, moment by moment,
andante, andante,
to such a glorious crescendo.
