direction

tomorrow's blues,
yesterday's news:
the path that you travel
is partly the one
that you choose;
the other measure:
where you are pushed,
prodded, cajoled,
ramrodded,
tricked, waylaid,
abandoned;
when you've
overstayed your welcome,
and then some;
so you run
to another one,

but seldom fast enough.
