black is back

the spring fashion forecast, thank goodness,
is out: lots of black and blue,
trimmed with a wide variety of shades of grey
(nothing will be black and white)
easier to mourn and beg
when you're dressed that way;

me, I am my usual upbeat self:
I'm only wearing black
until they make something darker.

see you in the breadline

bring your own tissues

tell everyone the news:
black is back,
and not just in the White House.
